Beta Weather Site now available

The NAM 5km Visibility model is doing a nice job of showing where fog is here this morning based on traffic cams I viewed. The HRRR 3km model is missing/ showing much less of the fog than NAM5km Visibility shows.

A few updates today to the beta site:

  1. Added a logo!
  2. Multi-language support now available (and your language selection in the main web app will now be carried over to the weather site)
  3. Updated the main map - instead of using the default OSM style, I’ve included the Thunderforest Outdoor style, with grayscale applied. You can now see topography, plus there’s a slightly higher density town/city names and in a slightly heavier font which aids legibility, I think.
  4. The map legend support units conversions - en-US users are hard-coded to Miles/Fahrenheit, en-GB to Miles/Celsius, anything else to Metric. I’ll add controls to allow you to manage this yourself soon.s
