We’re in Germany for a few days catching up with family. This was the best my iPhone could capture of the aurora last night:
The flight path Denver to Frankfurt took us quite far south - we crossed the coast of Ireland near Galway, so I guess this was quite a strong event for lower latitudes.
I saw some reports from Colorado too overnight. Anyone else capture it?
It was visible as far south as the Texas panhandle and Northern New Mexico. I saw some phenomenal images from near Lake Champlain NY.
I hate that I missed it here. I went out around ten but it appears that it peaked after midnight.
Regards J
I’m hoping we’ll have some more chances before this current solar cycle gets too far past peak (which I think is due around next July?)
I have crossed the Atlantic at night more than 100 times and never, ever seen an aurora borealis. Lucky you!
