Hi all
Sometimes, depending on red pin and blackpin elevations, the black pin elevation may assume negative value.
In 3D view, in this case, the searching window is not visible.

Hi Stefano, I know we messaged directly on this, but wanted to respond here for others who may be following.
Right now, Visual Search only supports positive altitudes (>0°), so what you’re seeing is as expected.
I can add support for below the horizon altitudes too. I’ll need to give some careful consideration to the refraction behaviour, as that’s the least predictable part of the equation.
I’ll report back once I’ve made some progress.
Yes, Stephen, that’s right.
At first I thought the problem was just with the window visualization, which is why I posted the message on the forum.
Later, however, I realised that the problem wasn’t just with the window visualization, but actually with the search function itself, so I wrote to you directly.
I understand the technical difficulty involved in searching for negative elevation values. If I remember correctly, though, this was possible in version 3 of TPE.
Hi Stefano – it wasn’t supported in v3 (it’s never been supported and had never been requested before your post).
However, happy to report that I mostly got it implemented yesterday and I expect to have it available in beta later today or tomorrow. More soon!
Ah… I’d done, with version 3, plannings involving negative elevations , but I’ve clearly misremembered – I hadn’t used the automatic search function, but had searched manually, scrolling through day by day until I found the right date.
In any case, I’m pleased that this feature has been added too.
Thanks, Stephen
