So what are all your plans for the Lunar Eclipse next week, on Friday March 14?
I’m going to be in England and, clouds permitting, will be entering myself for the “Selenelion Challenge”! The what, you ask? Here’s the background:
The eclipse begins around sunrise in much of the UK, and if you choose your location just right, it is in theory possible to observe the totally eclipsed Moon while the Sun is risen behind you.
The cloud forecast for the north of England doesn’t look exactly promising, but I’ll be keeping a close eye on things in the preceding days.
